The pattern on this scarf is absolutely gorgeous with colours direct from the 70’s. The variegation of the wool is flawless and melds with the complicated design that makes up the piece. This scarf is also wider than most that I weave and would definitely keep your neck nice and warm during the winter months. A slightly more complicated weave called ‘overshot’ is used to create the pattern on this scarf. This process involves weaving a row of ‘plain weave’ between each row of pattern. ‘Plain weave’ is simply the most basic form of weaving and provides a kind of background for the pattern. More information on ‘overshot’ weaving can be found here.
