About Materials & Ethics

What is Fairtrade gold and why do you use it?

Fairtrade gold is sourced from small scale mining communities that are certified to meet strict social, environmental, and economic standards. This means miners receive fair wages, safer working conditions, and a premium that supports local schools, healthcare, and community projects. By choosing Fairtrade gold, I ensure that every piece of jewellery carries not only beauty but also dignity and justice at its core. If you’d like to learn more about my commitment to ethical practices, please visit my Sustainability page.

Are all your gemstones ethically sourced?

Yes! I work with suppliers who prioritise transparency and traceability, often sourcing from small mines or cooperatives where workers are treated fairly and environmental impact is minimised. This careful sourcing ensures that your gemstone is not only stunning but also aligned with values of respect and responsibility.   Do you use recycled metals?

Alongside Fairtrade gold, I incorporate recycled sterling silver whenever possible. Recycling reduces the need for new mining, lowering environmental impact while preserving the integrity of the material. It’s a way of honouring the past while creating something new and meaningful. Another wonderful way to approach “recycling” is by re using gold that customers already own to create new pieces. For instance, if you have a gold ring from a grandparent, I can melt it down and transform it into something fresh and meaningful. While I don’t purchase gold directly, I’m happy to work with your existing materials, and the final price is adjusted accordingly. This way, your jewellery carries both a new design and the sentimental history of the original piece.

How do you ensure heirloom quality in your jewellery?

Heirloom quality means more than durability — it’s about timeless design, meticulous craftsmanship, and materials that will endure. I use secure settings, carefully chosen alloys, and traditional goldsmithing techniques to ensure each piece can be worn, loved, and passed down through generations.

About Craftsmanship

  Is every piece handmade?

Yes! Each item is designed and crafted by hand in my Leipzig atelier. This process allows me to pay close attention to detail, adapt designs to individual needs, and imbue every piece with the uniqueness that machine made jewellery simply cannot replicate.

Can I request a custom design?

Absolutely! I specialise in bespoke commissions, working closely with you to translate your ideas, stories, or heirloom materials into a design that feels deeply personal. The process is collaborative, ensuring the final piece reflects your vision while carrying my signature craftsmanship. To collaborate with me on a custom piece, please visit my Custom Piece page.

How long does it take to create a custom piece?

Timelines vary depending on complexity, but most bespoke projects take 6–10 weeks. This includes consultation, design sketches, sourcing materials, and handcrafting. I believe in taking the time needed to ensure every detail is perfect, rather than rushing the process.

Do you repair or resize jewellery?

I am able to offer some resizing and repair services, though this is not my main specialty. Each piece is unique, so I need to see the jewellery in person before confirming whether the changes you’d like are possible. When I do take on a repair or adjustment, I approach it with the same care and respect as I would a new creation, ensuring the piece retains both its beauty and integrity.

About Sourcing & Transparency

Where do your gemstones come from?

My gemstones are sourced from trusted partners who provide traceability, often from small scale mines or suppliers committed to ethical practices. This means you can feel confident that your stone’s beauty is matched by integrity in its journey to you. I will always provide customers with as much transparency as possible regarding the stones — from their origin to the conditions under which they were mined — so you know the full story behind your jewellery. If you’d like to learn more about my commitment to ethical practices, please visit my Sustainability page.

Can you reuse my existing jewellery pieces?

Yes! I love transforming heirloom jewellery into new designs. By reusing gold and gemstones from family pieces, I preserve their emotional significance while giving them a fresh form that suits your style today.

Do you provide certification for your materials?

Where available, I provide documentation for Fairtrade gold and ethically sourced gemstones. This certification is a tangible assurance of the values behind your jewellery. If you’d like to learn more about my commitment to ethical practices, please visit my Sustainability page.

About Buying & Caring for Your Jewellery

How should I care for my jewellery?

Store pieces separately to avoid scratches, clean gently with warm water and mild soap, and avoid exposure to harsh chemicals or extreme temperatures. With proper care, your jewellery will remain radiant for decades.

  Do you ship internationally?

Yes. I carefully package each piece in protective, elegant wrapping and ship worldwide with insurance and tracking. This ensures your jewellery arrives safely, wherever you are. However, I am not responsible for any duties, taxes, or tariffs that may be applied to your package upon entry into your country.

  What is your return policy?

Ready to wear pieces may be returned within 14 days if unworn and in original condition. Custom commissions, being uniquely designed for you, are non returnable. This policy balances flexibility with respect for the bespoke process.

  Do you offer gift options?

Yes. Every piece comes in refined packaging suitable for gifting, and it may be possible to include personalised elements – just get in touch with me to inquire about specifics. Jewellery is often given to mark life’s most meaningful moments, and I ensure the presentation reflects that significance.
