Weaving on a 4‑shaft loom
his 1‑day beginner workshop is perfect for anyone curious about the basics of weaving and excited to spend a relaxed, creative day making a beautiful handwoven piece of cloth.
What to expect:
When you arrive, you’ll find a 4‑shaft loom already set up with a natural organic cotton warp - ready for you to begin weaving. A curated selection of cotton yarn colours will be available for your weft, and you can choose up to five colours to work with.
Once you’ve selected your palette, the weaving begins! I’ll introduce you to how the loom works and show you how to create a few simple patterns. After helping you get started on your scarf, you’ll have plenty of time to explore, experiment, and find your own rhythm at the loom. I’ll be nearby throughout the day to support you whenever you need guidance.
In this workshop, you’ll weave a piece of cloth approximately 150-200 cm long and 30 cm wide. If you prefer, you can also divide the warp to create several smaller pieces instead of one long piece.
